Tithe
- Simply put, money given to the Church by all members equaling one-tenth of their personal income.
All members are expected to pay a full tithe on all of their income. This money is primarily used to operate the many Church buildings (meeting houses, Temples, etc.) around the world, several programs of the Church (universities, welfare, etc.), and humanitarian aid (to those of all religious and ethnic backgrounds). Paying one's tithing provides material, physical, and spiritual blessings. Members primarily pay their tithe in their local currency but permission can be given to pay in any form (e.g., property, stocks).
