Stake
- A collection of wards (the actual number varies widely depending on the area) that represents a distinctive geographical area.
Church members belong to Wards which are associated with a particular Stake. For example, I once belonged to the 1st Ward of the Redmond Stake. Stakes have their own set of leadership and are often housed in the Stake Center. The Stake leadership is in charge of overseeing the Ward leadership and the general direction of the Stake as a whole.
