Testimony
- To bear a testimony: when an individual explains or expresses their beliefs and faith.
- To have a testimony: when an individual has strong personal belief or faith, regardless of whether it is currently being expressed to others.
The basic idea of a testimony is to have a belief about (or faith in) almost anything. For example, you could have a testimony about a person (e.g. Jesus Christ), an idea (e.g. the Plan of Salvation), or an organization (e.g. the Church). It is the belief of the LDS Church that it is important to share your testimony with others, so much so that they devote one hour of each month for members to do so. However, testimonies can be shared whenever needed or desired.
